Welcome

Greeting from the President of the IALP

It is my pleasure to welcome you the home page of the IALP.

The IALP is the oldest international organization representing persons involved with scientific, educational and professional issues related to communication, language, voice, speech, hearing and swallowing disorders.  Our members are in more than 55 countries around the world. The IALP was founded in Vienna, Austria, by Dr Emil Froeschels, in 1924. The IALP has a consultative status with the UN and is in association with the United Nations Department of Public Information.

The IALP main goal of the IALP is to foster communication between professionals and scientists in order to improve the understanding of the impact communication disorders have on all life domains.  Our international configuration allows us to reduce geographical and political barriers by means of spreading a multicultural knowledge.

The IALP provides a venue for sharing information, knowledge and understanding about communication with our world-wide partners. Looking at problems from various points of view informs us all and creates a better understanding of communication disorders respecting
geo-political-socio-cultural contexts.
